Pottery by Yvonne

Pottery By Yvonne is the culmination of a journey fueled by passion and creativity.  Founded in 2015, I embarked on this venture after discovering a deep-seated love for working with clay during community classes. From the humble confines of my garage in hot and humid Florida, I began crafting pottery and refining my skills, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving pottery business. In 2017, my family and I made the bold decision to relocate to a small farm in the picturesque landscapes of Central Oregon. Here, amidst the tranquil beauty of the countryside, I found the perfect setting to nurture and grow my pottery business. I transformed a rustic barn into my main pottery studio, where I devote myself to the art of pottery creation. My work is a reflection of my surroundings and experiences. Inspired by the arid beauty of the desert landscapes of Oregon and my frequent journeys to iconic destinations like Moab, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon, my pottery embodies the essence of the natural world. Each piece is a testament to the layered history of the earth, with the strata of clay representing geological formations. The intricate carving on my pottery symbolizes the enduring impact of water, as it shapes and molds the rock over time. Through my choice of glazes, I seek to capture the hues of the sky and water, infusing each piece with the ethereal beauty of the desert landscape. Pottery By Yvonne is more than just a business—it is a passion project, an ongoing exploration of creativity and expression. With each piece I create, I strive to push the boundaries of my craft, constantly evolving and refining my techniques. As I continue on this journey of artistic discovery, I invite you to join me in celebrating the beauty of nature captured in clay.

Birds, Bowls and Things is a family cooperative, mother, father and daughter, who work together making pottery using slabs, stamps and underglaze transfers. Each piece is stamped or a transfer is added to the clay before it is hand colored using underglazes. The piece is then shaped into a bowl, a hanging ornament, pendant, magnet, tray or dish before being glazed and fired. Each item is unique and one-of-a-kind.

More examples of their work can be found at their Etsy shop BirdsBowlsandThings – https://www.etsy.com/shop/BirdsBowlsandThings?ref=seller-platform-mcnav
