Rob and Suzanne Call
Call Pottery
Suzanne and Robert Call took their first pottery class in high school. They became “addicted” to clay. In 1978 they were introduced by his cousin, who is also a potter, in the doorway to the Brigham Young University Pottery Studio. Rob had a wheel and Sue had an electric kiln- a great match! They were married the following year, raised a family and continued to make, fire and collect pottery. Sue pursued a degree in art. Rob’s degrees and career was in horticulture, specializing in pomology. Upon retirement they increased their pottery production and installed a 24 cubic foot gas kiln. Sue enjoys carving and applying surface designs to the pots she throws. Rob creates functional ware to be used in the kitchen, table, home and garden. They also enjoy firing their raku kiln and learning about worldwide ceramic history.
