Lily Myers Kaplan
I’ve been a maker all my life, so when I retired in 2023, my hands searched for a craft to renew and feed my soul. Digging my hands into a chunk of clay answered that call, and I haven’t stopped making mud into objects ever since. I love hand-building slabs, coils, and pinch pots into organically shaped bowls, platters, altars, vases, boxes, cups or whatever each hunk of clay inspires. Nature and Indigenous motifs inform my work today, and I expect to continue evolving my designs as long as I can hear the heartbeat of the earth in the clay beneath my hands.
