Janice Shenker

I began my pottery journey in 2016 and I am still in search of my niche. My journey began after retiring from a long career in the medical field. I had always wanted to explore pottery but could never seem to find the time. Once retired I took a community education pottery class at RCC joining a welcoming and inspiring community of artists, I was hooked.

My pieces include organic hand built slab, pinch, coil constructions, and wheel thrown decorative and functional pieces. I enjoy experimenting/ playing with glazes and texture to enhance my creations. I love seeing my fingerprints forever imprinted in the clay. My goal is to create what my mind imagines or at least come close.
