JOSEPHINE COUNTY EMPTY BOWLS

This year's EMPTY BOWLS event is on Tuesday, October 12th at Parkway Christian Center , Grants Pass - 6PM to 8PM . The event benefits both Options and the local Food Bank. Also, please consider making other pottery items for donation to their auction? Donations will be accepted in September.  Please bring your work to Options in Grants Pass by early October.

A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY : If you bring a pot, we will be choosing a few SPECIAL PIECES for display in a window in downtown GP. These SPECIAL PIECES have to be deliver before Tues. Sept. 7th to OPTIONS at1215 SW "G" Street in GP!

Remember, ALL CLAY OBJECTS CAN BE AUCTIONED or displayed, but we need LOTS OF BOWLS. Grants Pass has a soup dinner, with GREAT SOUPS donated by local restaurants and has always run out of hand made pottery and has had to serve in some commercial bowls.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE SCHOOLS TO MAKE BOWLS? (PHIL?)

And they do include other art work in their auction if you know an artist in another medium or if you also work in other media.

DOUGLAS COUNTY FESTIVAL OF ARTS

All Oregon artists are invited to exhibit their work at the South Douglas County Festival of Arts, on October 16th, 2010 , in the 7 Feathers Casino Convention Center in Canyonville , OR from 9AM to 5PM . The Festival is sponsored in part by the Douglas County Cultural Coalition. There are a limited number of booth spaces, so apply early. The application deadline is October 7, 2010 .

STUDIO SPACE NEEDED

Hello there at Clayfolk

I am looking to do some ceramics at an artist's ceramics studio. I would be willing to pay in order to use the studio. I went to SOU and studied some ceramics there. I am really into handbuilding and creating figures - if I could work at a studio where the artist likes to do the same that would be wonderful to exchange ideas. I do not do the wheel.

CRAFT SHOW OPPORTUNITY

  We are organizing an event for the weekend of September 25th - 26th. It will be primarily a music festival with an emphasis on Bluegrass , Folk, Country and Americana . We are also going to have some great food, beer and wine, a wonderful quilt show and of course, arts and crafts vendor booths.

We are looking for high quality artists with a wide variety of media. In case you don’t know where we are, Prospect is halfway between Medford and Crater Lake on Hwy. 62. We are on 5-1/2 acres of beautiful grounds. Booths will be $50 for the weekend for a standard area of 10’x10’ or 20’. We will have overnight security, so it will not be necessary to take the entire booth down on Saturday night. There is detailed information on our website if you want to take a look. We are anticipating 300 to 400 attendees.
