NEW Photography Position - 5pts
We have
created a new Clayfolk position open to our members. Firstly this position is
to help facilitate our members to take photos of their own work by renting out
the new photo-cube. Secondly the photographer will take photos during the
Clayfolk Show and during two general meetings a year. Since this is a new
position it is being created on a trial basis for one year. After the first
year we will see what worked and what didn’t and modify accordingly.
Duties :
The Photo-Cube
The Cube
will be introduced to the group at the July 14, general meeting. Members will
be able to rent the cube very reasonably ($5) plus a deposit ($50) to insure
the cube is well maintained. Another aspect of this position is to bring the
cube to two general meetings per year for people to photograph work and to
become educated in using the cube.
Clayfolk Show Photos
The
photographer will be responsible for taking photos during the Clayfolk show
(demos etc.) to help with future advertising and the web-page.
If you are
interested in this position and/or have any questions about it please contact
Penelope by emailing pdews@usa.net or
phoning 541-535-1128.
NOTE : You
need to own a digital camera, have some knowledge of photography, be able to do
simple photo editing (Don Clarke our webpage expert will be able to help with
this), and know how to email photos.
My heartfelt gratitude to the Clayfolk potters
from
Jackson
County Empty Bowls
The 11th Annual Empty Bowls project, which is a collaborative effort
between Clayfolk, The Schneider Museum, The Art Department at SOU and
Soroptimist International of Ashland generated $4,224 to donate to four food
banks in the Rogue Valley. Clearly without the donations and the support from
Clayfolk and other local potters this event would not happen. As the co-chair
in 2010 I want to express my gratitude for all of the bowls, the artwork and
the products the members of Clayfolk donated. Hannah Brehmer, the Clayfolk
representative for 2010, played a major part in making the event successful. I
hope Hannah, along with Clayfolk, benefited from the publicity. Dialogue has
already begun with Stephanie Friedman, the 2011 Clayfolk Empty Bowls rep. Part
of our discussion included ways of providing the potters who donate products
more recognition.
The Empty Bowls committee welcomes your ideas and suggestions. Thanks for
contributing your time and your talent-- it makes a difference for the hungry
in our community.

in your mailbox!!
Some updates to the Clayfolk webpage
There is a new splash page with an update from Shirley and
we've added the awesome list of Expert Tips/Tools/Techniques. Plus, I'd like to
remind you that the webpage is your webpage and you can use it to announce and
list your upcoming events/sales/shows/etc by simply clicking on the Events link
and sending in your listing.
And is there someone out there that would like to volunteer to add some
logic to the wonderful tips-tools-techniques section. In the current format it
is quite random and would probably be more useful if it were organized into categories/etc.
So ... if you're good with MSWord and have some free time let me know and I'll
send you the original document.

| The number of full booths is 43, half booths is 14 and there are 8 group booth spaces. |
|
|
| This is based on the 2009 armory floor plan and the final number of booth spaces is subject to change. |
| Please find your name on the list, note your points, booth notation and/or the type of |
|
|
| booth you are waiting for. Members who are tied for points are in order of application post-mark. |
|
| People do drop and there is a good chance if you are on the waiting list, or in a smaller booth that |
|
| you may end up with your first choice. You will be informed as changes take place. |
|
|
| If there are any discrepancies, spelling, points, choice of booth etc. |
|
|
| please phone Debora 541-846-6741 and let her know. |
